| This was a demanding project to supply fully finished shop fittings in a very tight delivery schedule. This project created many manufacturing challenges. The castings had to be functional, but at the same time eye catching for all the right reasons with the various polished and painted finishes having consistent quality. All items were needed to be matched and fully finished to a strict time scale to meet a fixed slot for installation in the shops. |

This project proved to be interesting and enjoyable particularly because of the subject matter being the environment and the educational value to all who visit Kew Gardens, not to mention the skilled moulders who manufactured all the parts, the fun element was the daily quiz that developed amongst the work force. The many castings comprising the trunk, branches, twigs and leaves build up into an impressive bronze tree and in the gallery below, the bronze roots spread out revealing working animations of life forms that thrive there.
In the tree top walkway, Bronze plaques illustrate & explain interesting points of the eco system among the great trees. |
